Garry Kasparov to Appear on All Three Days, Highlighted by 40-Board Simultaneous Exhibition

Kasparov, today announced the third annual, National All-Girls Chess
Championships, to be held at the historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel, Chicago, IL, March 17 - 19, 2006.
Kasparov Chess Foundation is presenting
the tournament in association with Chess Wizards and the United States Chess Federation
(USCF). Girls from public, private and home-schools are invited to participate. Teams
will compete within the following age categories: 8 years old and younger; 10 years old
and younger; 12 years old and younger; 14 years old and younger; 16 years old and younger; 18 years old and younger.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 15 individual players and top three teams in each
section. Three or more players from the same school make up a team (team scores will be calculated based on the top 3
scores to give teams their final standings). Every player will receive a souvenir medal to honor their participation.
The main competition will be hosted at Palmer House Hilton Hotel: 17 East Monroe Street, Chicago, IL 60603; Phone: 877-865-5321. The tournament schedule follows:
Sat., March 18: Opening Ceremony: 9:00 AM
Sat., March 18: Rounds 1 - 4; 9:30-11:30 AM; 12:00-2:00 PM; 3:00-5:00 PM; 5:30-7:30 PM
Sun., March 19: Rounds 5 - 6; 9:00-11:00 AM; 11:30 AM-1:30 PM
Sun., March 19: Closing Ceremony: 2:30 PM
Garry Kasparov will play versus 40 girls, participants of All Girls nationals. Individual champions from the previous two championships are awarded to play in the simul. The remaining seats will be chosen by lottery among participants of the Third Annual Championship. Lottery will be held on Fri., March 17th at 6:00 PM at the Adams Ballroom at Palmer House Hilton Hotel. Garry Kasparov's book signing, autograph session and award ceremony with photo memento will take place on Sat. and Sun, March 18 - 19.
As a special offer to all competitors and their guests, the Palmer House Hilton Hotel will offer a guaranteed Chess rate of $119 if reservations are made by Feb. 25, 2006. For reservations, call 877-865-5321.

The competition is now accepting
entry applications for participants. Entry fee: $45 through March
1st, and $65 thereafter or on-site on Fri., March 17. All participants are required to be members of the US Chess Federation
